Programme Officer

Location: Ipoh

Job Description

The Programme Officer is responsible to facilitate, promote and ensure planning and development of programme activities as well as to implement community initiatives that contribute towards the well being of children and the communities we serve based on the vision, mission and core values of Good Shepherd Services.

Main Responsibilities

  • To plan, co-ordinate and evaluate programme activities and to ensure that the goals of programmes are met.

  • Ensure that programme activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organisation.

  • To facilitate community development and empowerment initiatives.

  • To develop new media tools such as graphics, animation, video and photography for the organisation as part of its awareness raising efforts.

  • To meet and discuss with authorities, leaders in the community, school, campus, parish etc. and people related to programmes and activities conducted.

  • Prepare proposed budgets, programme reports and accounting reports for programmes.

  • Maintain a proper filing system to ensure all documentations are secured and updated.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training, social studies, social work, Psychology or related fields, with at least 2 years’ working experience.

  • Good knowledge of social issues and passionate to advocate for social justice.

  • Flexible, energetic with positive attitude.

  • Cultural competence and able to work with people from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds

  • Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Tamil
